Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical skills base, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems, and PLC usage. The facility bottles juice boxes, pouches, bottles, and other various cartons used for happy meals and similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance per the schedule to prevent breakdowns on equipment.

  • Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages while collaborating with other departments.

  • Act as the initial responder when a line stops producing and ensure that the appropriate mechanical help is on site to correct any problems quickly using electrical and/or mechanical skills.

  • Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.

  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment, including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in a food industry.

  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics with conveyor systems.

  • Proficiency in electrical maintenance and mechanical repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Journeyman Card (not required but a plus)

  • Previous union experience (Steel Workers Union)

  • Previous food-grade experience

  • Wastewater treatment experience

Work Environment

The position requires flexibility with shifts. Openings are available on Crew D, which operates from 1/2 Wednesday (1am-7am), Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (7pm - 7am). Seniority is given to the crew members. The work environment is clean and food-grade, and employees are required to bring their own tools.
