Naval Air Systems Command LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Patuxent River, Maryland
Summary You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics Integration Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Responsibilities You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations associated with supportability and logistics in the acquisition of aircraft, aircraft systems, and weapon systems. You will develop, implement, and sustain maintenance and supply support solutions that are integrated and optimized in support of the Fleet. You will develop common processes, procedures, and tools for planning, implementing, and sustaining cost-wise readiness improvement initiatives. You will facilitate organizational, intermediate, and depot level review through tracking and report on the status of readiness goals and objectives. You will develop supportability test and evaluation procedures and metrics and participate in formal and informal test and evaluation activities. You will provide critical feedback regarding supportability risk to Program Offices and assigned in-service support organizations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying progressive concepts, theories, principles, and practices of industrial and logistics maintenance planning/sustainment, and engineering design integration to create and establish innovative and effective program policies and procedures for major aviation weapon system; 2) Demonstrating technical proficiency and understanding of product support management to take concluding action on any area of product support for assigned systems or functions; 3) Utilizing thorough working knowledge of aviation weapon system acquisition life-cycle phases to identify the activities involved in providing logistical support for a major aviation system; 4) Integrating actions required of each activity into a comprehensive logistics plan in support of or to be incorporated into overall program plans; 5) Monitoring progress in meeting the logistics plan and identifying the cause and impact of delays or other problems; 6) Adjusting plans and schedules for all related actions as required by delays or changes to logistics requirements; 7) Evaluating program plans for and provision of logistical support for feasibility, efficiency, and economy, and to develop alternatives when required; 8) Identifying opportunities to incorporate logistics management process improvements and best practices by utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities in support of assigned program; and 9) Establishing formal and informal communication networks with individuals and organizations to gather information and knowledge that will aid in maintaining or improving the supply support of assigned aviation weapon systems?.
