Position Title: Model-Based System Engineer (MBSE)

Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Model Based Systems Engineer to serve as Digital Transformation Technologist assisting in leading the implementation of digital engineering approaches and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) within our Test and Evaluation (T&E) processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the Digital Transformation of our organization by developing, implementing, and maintaining digital engineering solutions that enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of our T&E processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Digital Engineering: Assist in developing and implementing a digital engineering strategy for T&E processes, aligned with the organization's overall Digital Transformation goals.
· Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Extensively collaborate with prime and support contractors, developmental test engineers, program management office personnel, etc., on a daily basis, to educate, inspire, and facilitate the use of proposed processes and technologies supporting the emerging concept of Digitally Enabled Test & Evaluation.
· Model Based System Engineering: Apply MBSE principles and methodologies to T&E processes, using tools such as SysML, to serve as consumer and producer of digital models of systems, subsystems, processes, and acquisition artifacts. Apply MBSE skills to comprehensively integrate programmatic documentation (i.e. requirements documents, test plans, concepts of operations, data-analysis plans, formal reports) into applicable modeling environments with the intent to weave a digital tapestry.
· Digital Thread: Develop and maintain a digital thread that connects all aspects of the T&E process from requirements definition to test execution and analysis.
· Test and Evaluation Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in T&E processes and implement digital engineering solutions to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
· Digital Twin Development: Evaluate, implement, and support the technologies leading to the development of digital twins of systems and subsystems to support T&E activities, such as simulation-based testing and analysis.
· Data Analytics and Visualization: Develop and implement data analytics and visualization solutions to support T&E decision-making, using tools such as dashboards, reports, and data-mining techniques.
· Training and Presenting: Provide training to stakeholders on digital engineering approaches, MBSE, and their appropriate application to T&E processes. Periodically brief/educate acquisition professionals, developmental/operational test engineers, customers and senior leadership on the progress of Digital and MBSE activities under the organization’s purview.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in digital engineering and MBSE. Apply this knowledge to continuously improve T&E processes and digital engineering solutions.
· Travel: Travel to contractors’ facilities, test sites and other locations to collaborate with various working groups and/or other program participating organizations on program MBSE-related activities. Approximately 10% travel anticipated.
Required Qualifications:
· Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
· Bachelor’s degree highly preferred in STEM.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in digital engineering, MBSE, or a related field; bonus points for experience in formal T&E in a DOD setting.
· Strong background in the application of systems-engineering principles, MBSE, SysML and/or other relatable MBSE tools used to digitally model complex, interrelated systems.
· Experience developing, interpreting, analyzing, and employing digital models coded using SysML preferably using Cameo Systems Modeler.
· Knowledge and experience applying systems engineering concepts in support of DOD programs.
· Superior interpersonal skills and ability to effectively express complex, technical concepts, both verbally and in writing, to integrated team members with varying technical backgrounds.
Desired Qualifications & Certifications:
· Object Modeler Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Language (SysML) Professional (OCSMP) Model Builder (Fundamental, Intermediate, or Advanced).
· Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP).
Bonus Points for Knowledge of or Experience with any of the following technologies:
· Digital engineering tools and technologies or equivalent: CAD, CAE, PLM’s, Dassault Systemes, 3DExperience, Ansys, DataLab, Vault, TRMC / JMETC Tools (Cheetas, Safari, TENA, etc.) .
· Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices. Experience with Confluence and Jira.
· Cloud-based Integrated Digital Engineering platforms and services, such as LaunchPad.
