Description
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Marine Sheet Metal Technicians for projects located in Newport News, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate up to $27.31/hr based on experience and skill level plus $120/per diem for travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:
Installation of foundations, ventilation, bulkheads, and shipboard furniture
Sheet metal fabrication shop work
Layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly
Assemble piece parts in accordance with specifications
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
Ability to comprehend complex ventilation assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches
Ability to comprehend fractional and decimal dimensions as with a use of a ruler
Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
Experience using small hand tools, electrical drills, grinders, rivet guns, and shop equipment
Minimum of 3 years experience as a first class Sheet Metal worker
