Huntington/Ingalls Shipbuilding Electricians in Pascagoula, Mississippi
First Class Electrician also called an Electrical Journeyman, is responsible for the layout, instillation and repair of shipboard cables, lighting, and electronic equipment as well as the ships power. Electricians utilize an assortment of hand and power tools, a variety of test equipment along with a working knowledge of blueprints, drawings and schematics. Ingalls shipyard production areas at times involves working at different heights, confined spaces, and all weather conditions as well as multiple shifts. As with most every position in the shipyard, an Electrician may be required to work either day or night dependant upon the number of ships under construction at any given time. Ingalls stresses the practice of working safely in all situations with safety standards meeting and most times exceeding industry standards. This is a full time position of 40 hours per week.
