Job Description Summary

The Metem Engineering Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and mentor a team of technical experts to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Business strategy objectives.

  • Engrain in the team cross functional collaboration with a focus on “go and see” to support customers and production associates.

  • Own the strategic projects and technical solutions to deliver on EHS, quality, delivery and cost savings goals within schedule and budget.

  • Develop proposals and solutions for technology choices, define methodologies to solve issues, and provide standards for project priorities & selection.

  • Liaison with customers to determine future needs and to better define current needs and expectations.

  • Manage Metem’s Research & Development (R&D) efforts for ECM and EDM, as well as R&D efforts focused on future machining/manufacturing processes.

  • Evaluate current and future trends in industry. Analyze competition and threats.

  • Manage, safeguard and grow Metem’s intellectual property including patents.

  • Responsible for developing quotes, to maximize customer service.

  • Manage project decks and the CAPEX strategy to support continuous improvement efforts in accordance with plant metrics.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute Lean transformation efforts to improve equipment layouts and material flow.

  • Drive a robust training program for manufacturing processes to support technical growth within the organization.

  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving and proposes creative solutions based on sound engineering practices for shop challenges.

  • Partner with NPI organization to develop, track, and implement new programs

  • Report performance and progress to senior business leadership

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

  • At least 7 years of manufacturing experience.

  • 5 or more years of supervisory/leadership experience.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel between Metem sites (Parsippany, NJ and Allentown, PA) on a frequent basis.

  • US export control requirements must be met for this position.

The salary range for this position is $142,200.00 - $190,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.

T his position is also eligible for 15 % performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. ​

*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
