Google UX Designer, Chrome Family and Kids in Paris, France

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience with industry standard design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVisio, Figma, Principle, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience leading design projects.

  • Experience designing enriching and protective experiences for children.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and advocate designs.

  • Comfortable working across a different platforms (desktop and mobile).

  • Keen storyteller who seeks opportunities to explore the edges of their craft.

  • Works well in close collaboration with cross-functional peers.

This role sits within the Chrome Trust and Safety team, focusing on delivering a safe, enriching web for kids and teens. Regulation is intensifying to protect children online, and as a priority, we must keep them safe when browsing in Chrome, in line with an evolving legal landscape. Kids are using and owning devices earlier than ever, and we have an opportunity to better serve and attract the next generation of Chrome users by offering compelling, age appropriate experiences.

We are looking to find a designer to help advance our Family and Kids experience of Chrome. You’ll partner closely with our internal teams to navigate business goals and platform constraints, as well as bring insights into the product design.

Chrome is dedicated to building a better, more open web. We’re focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way.Chrome is available across all major platforms — iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security.

  • Take responsibility for quality and timely execution of UX mocks, carrying design solutions from concept to launch, pushing creativity, challenging established thinking, and developing new approaches to complex design problems.

  • Collaborate and build relationships with designers, product managers, engineers, and researchers across Chrome and Google.

  • Communicate and present design concepts, insights, and outcomes.

  • Solicit and integrate feedback from stakeholders, teammates, and cross-functional partners, gauging and iterating on the usability and delightfulness of new and existing features as well as contributing to an inclusive and creative team culture.

  • Provide patterns, best practices, and guidance on interaction design for different devices and platforms.
