Position Summary

The Senior Chemist Engineer is responsible for the development of Darphin skincare projects helping to drive the Company’s continuing expansion in APAC, NA and EMEA.

The Senior Chemist Engineer is assigned to a wide range of different degrees of complexity, displaying new technologies that will create value in brand launches.

Key responsabilities

  • Simultaneously, manage formulation and reformulation projects of short and long-term issues in the following fields of skincare applications: Serum, O/W and W/O Emulsions, Oil, Balm.

  • Ensure projects are kept on track according to projects timeline.

  • Carry out stability testing and upload projects data in the R&D software.

  • Interpret unexpected technical results or observations and provide recommendations to address them.

  • Independently take action on project activities, working across functions.

  • Participate in ad hoc task force calls with Corporate R&D

  • Communicate results both orally and in writing to supervisor and key project members, including Darphin Global France and Corporate R&D.

  • Attend internal meetings and present findings and progress of projects.

  • Continuously research and evaluate new materials and technologies for future product developments.

  • Collaborate with the person in charge of Manufacturing Process to achieve lab pilots.

  • Demonstrate a pro-active commitment in the lab tasks.

Qualifications

Profile and qualification

  • Graduate degree level in Chemistry and Cosmetic Science, with 10 years’ experience in formulation and development of skincare products.

  • Strong skincare formulation capabilities and extensive knowledge of emulsions, raw materials and botanicals.

  • Advanced knowledge in APAC, NA and EMEA cosmetic markets is essential.

  • Understand needs and sensory preferences of different skin types.

  • Proficient in utilizing existing capabilities and systems.

  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with adaptability to change.

  • Capacity to demonstrate leadership and responsible behavior.

  • Strong team working and relationship building with internal and Corporate partners.

  • Mastery of French and English is mandatory.
