VF Corporation Sr. Raw Material Planner, GMS in Panama, Panama

Summary: As the Senior Planner, Raw Materials, you are responsible for proactive planning and management of raw materials, yarn, and fabrics in the supply chain to ensure smooth production and on-time shipments. This role is responsible for determining the brand’s raw material volume requirements via the product to material conversions coupled with forecasting trends. Building and managing relationships in the Smartwool supply chain is prevalent in this position. This role is expected to establish control-related standards, metrics, and processes to ensure the raw materials pipeline runs efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee timing of wool processing and flow of shipments post processing in partnership with VF GMS team.

  • Provide financial accounting and volume analysis at each stage in the raw materials supply chain

  • Manage relationships with wool processors, yarn spinners, and dye houses for Smartwool’s sock and apparel/accessories businesses, and partner directly with sock vendor partners and VFA sourcing office to ensure raw materials are ordered on time.

  • Provide early season forecasts and fabric/yarn commits to sock mills and apparel/accessory vendors.

  • Ensure fiber and raw materials are in the supply chain and delivered on time to fulfill vendor orders.

  • Build cross functional relationships and drive planning sessions to ensure connectivity and visibility to demand and supply planning information.

  • Manage the process to track, limit, and reduce excess and obsolete raw material inventory in the yarn and fabric supply chain.

  • Proactively communicate and drive to immediate solutions if raw material deliveries or customer service is impacted.

  • Manage transfer certificate process for raw material vendors.

  • Support Smartwool’s commitment to sustainability and quality by applying Smartwool’s values and standards to supplier vetting, testing, and tracking. Support Manager in preparation for S&OP Supply Review meeting. Highlight issues and opportunities to drive improved supply chain operational performance and achieve business objectives.

  • Lead key projects to evolve supply chain capabilities.

  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required within Operations department and cross functionally.

  • Self-starter with excellent follow through and organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

Educational/ Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant planning experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university (preferred concentration in Supply Chain, Finance, or Business Management)

  • Raw material or apparel goods experience.

  • APICS or Six-Sigma Certifications are a plus
