Job Description:

As a Software Engineer for Quality Engineering team of Enterprise Cloud, you will be driving the test strategy, test automation and implementation of the next generation of Platform-as-a-Service for American Express in private and public cloud. You will be working closely with our Software Engineers, Product team, Business Partners and Systems Engineers, and have an opportunity to work with multitude of tools and technologies.

Responsibilities :

  • Leverage coding expertise to develop and maintain test tools and frameworks to validate unit, integration, functional and performance of Cloud Platforms from API, UI, platforms

  • Design and develop mock frameworks to help QE team complete E2E testing by stubbing out various different components

  • Develop API libraries that can be used by QE team to extend the integration testing for various cloud platform integration workflows (i.e. PaaS, IaaS, DBaaS, xPaaS, CI/CD, Network, etc)

  • Research market and industry trends in the development and maintenance of test tools and frameworks

  • Work closely with development, QE and infrastructure teams to collaborate on tools and methods to improve the quality of cloud platform offerings

  • Develop complex integration test cases based on formal and informal requirements, debug and isolate bugs and drive to resolution

  • Integrate test automation with Jenkins, GitHub, GitHubAction and execute regression tests on nightly build

  • Experience with CI/CD and project management tools (e.g. Git, GHA, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence)

  • Experience in end-to-end testing with any Cloud Platforms: RedHat Openshift, AWS, GCP, Azure

  • Mentor QE team members on test automation best practices

  • Help out with manual testing efforts during crunch phase

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years hands-on Java development experience

  • 10 years TestNG or Junit experience

  • 10 year experience building / Testing REST API’s

  • 5 years in Linux, particularly Red Hat/CentOS

  • 5 years experience in any of the Cloud Platforms: RH Openshift, AWS, GCP, Azure

  • 5 years Jenkins experience

  • 5 years Maven experience

  • 5 year Docker, GitHub, GitHubAction

Have knowledge or with hands-on-experience on:

  • Groovy, GoLang, Rally, Selenium, TestNG, JMeter, webdriverIO and SauceLabs. WebDriver automation experience is a big plus.

  • Experience in Terraform/Terratest

  • Experience testing DB technologies: Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, Couchbase, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.

  • Experience with Cloud technologies (OpenShift, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Knowledge on logging & monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, etc is a plus

  • Experience in Docker, Vagrant, Kubernetes is a plus

  • Experience in testing end-to-end app lifecycle via UI/API/Platform in Cloud

  • Regularly conduct brownbag sessions to broader developer community

Nice to Have:

  • Fast learner, eager to use and understand new technologies

  • Detail oriented, with solid analytical skills and problem-solving ability

  • Can demonstrate dedication to quality and have a positive, collaborative approach to testing

  • Self-motivated; always in the look-out for improvement opportunities and can work independently

  • Knowledge in cloud/cloud consumption (primarily in private cloud)

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually bonus benefits
