In this position…

Ford’s Product Design group is seeking a talented engineer to help design and develop how drivers will interact with future generations of vehicles. This engineering position involves working with cross-functional teams across the spectrum of design, implementation, and integration. Within this team, we rapidly prototype experiences in order to test design hypothesis and think holistically about driver or passenger experiences.

What you'll do…

• Contribute to hardware, firmware, and software for development bucks, mules, and test vehicles.

• Prototype development and bring-up for functional verification and user experience validation with design

• Extensive electrical PCB schematic capture, layout, and rapid prototyping experience.

• Authoring requirements and working with suppliers and/or partner engineering teams

• Assist researchers to conduct usability testing, concept & design validation, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research.

• Communicate technical concepts, choices, and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You will have…

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 4+ years of professional experience in relevant engineering roles.

• Experience working with sensors(touch, force, etc), Arduino, ESP32, and equivalent microcontrollers or HDKs

• Experience with CAN, LIN, and other automotive communication protocols such as UDP and MQTT

• Proficient in C/C++, Rust, Python

• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).

• Experience with software development and collaboration tools such as Git, JIRA, Miro, Figma.

• Experience collaborating on lean, cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric solutions, products, etc.

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 .
