Summary:

The Manager, Business Applications is responsible for the development, installation, maintenance and management of EPRI's SAP Software and Application Systems. The responsibilities of this position include the management of a professional team of developers, business analysts, and security specialists, establishing short and long term plans for the development of enterprise systems that support corporate strategy, developing and rationalizing a viable information architecture, establishing and enforcing a maintenance plan that ensures that all systems are up-to-date and adequate to meet the current and future needs of the enterprise, and ensuring the efficient, uninterrupted operation of the business systems environment. The Manager, Business Applications will negotiate and manage complex contracts with outside vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute strategy and operating plans for the applications development and support organization to enable the corporate business strategy. This includes obtaining input from executives and managers of various functional areas; e.g., finance, contracts, sales, R&D operations, product line management, etc.

  • Manage day-to-day work of business analysts and programmers by providing directions and guidance and oversee development of procedures, standards, and best practices

  • Interact with key operating managers in functional areas to develop detailed business systems requirements and to resolve system and data design issues.

  • Interact with other IT managers to pro-actively identify resolve system and data design issues.

  • Advise senior management on selection and prioritization of enterprise technologies by building and presents business cases that yield return by applying technology standardization to current products and or consolidating or deprecating products

  • Participate as member of the technology management team and contributes to the strategic planning and management of the business to ensure the feasibility of plans, and to ensure plans conform to the IT mission of EPRI

  • Model positive representation and thoughtful influence in support of management visions and goals while enforcing EPRI bylaws, values, vision and philosophy in process and system design

  • Recruit, select and develop a team, providing timely feedback, appropriate challenges, and opportunities for growth

  • Participate and report on annual budgeting process, recommending development and enterprise software capital and expense plans

Education and Experience:

  • Require BA in computer science. Prefer Master's Degree in same area. Equivalent work experience is acceptable.

  • Require 10 to 12 years of experience in development and deployment of SAP business application.

  • Experience in leading and motivating teams in addition to experience in preparing and executing operating plans.

  • 4+ years of departmental budgetary management experience required or demonstrated acumen.

  • Project management and excellent verbal and written communication skills are a required.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Stay on top of new technologies and maintain knowledge of solutions and technologies in the industry to be able to lead research and evaluation of how new technologies should be implemented at EPRI

  • Someone who recognizes good and potential skills and ensure appropriate and expansion of skills in systems development team to support and provide effective solutions and services for business

  • Ability to evaluate, document, manage, and mitigate risk across application portfolio

  • Great attitude and works well with team

  • Great communication and writing skills

The salary range for this position is $161,500 USD to $204,750 USD annually.

This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.

This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).
