Job Description:
Sample Preparation and Extraction
Accurately measure soil samples and extraction solutions.
Handle acidic solutions safely.
Use simple chemical apparatus effectively.
Prepare and collect samples for further analyses.
Follow instructions carefully and multi-task as needed.
Soil pH Determination and Analysis Assistance
Determine soil pH accurately.
Assist with additional lab analyses to support soil studies.
Lab Cleanliness and Glassware Washing
Wash all glassware and lab apparatus thoroughly.
Maintain general cleanliness and organization of the lab.
Soil Receiving and Processing
Log, sift, and dry soil samples promptly.
Work effectively in dusty conditions.
Expected Salary:
$15.80 - $16.76 hourly: commensurate with experience
Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in an appropriate area; or a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in laboratory or soils analysis.
