Siemens Energy Finance Cost Accountant in Painted Post, New York

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Finance Cost Accountant is responsible for creating and maintaining standard cost. They will partner with various members of Operations to analyze standard cost variances and take corrective actions to ensure accurate costing.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Provide accurate standard costing for high volume factory by creating, reviewing, and analyzing product costs. Delivering timely and actionable variance information to Operations.

  • Create and maintain standard cost calculations in the ERP system including the annual cost revaluation.

  • Analyze and provide insight on variances including labor, yields, material usage, overhead and absorption.

  • Prepare reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and variance reporting.

  • Close collaboration and support of Operations for management reporting and cost analysis.

  • Research cost overruns to identify and report the root cause of the overrun.

  • Perform various general ledger activities including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations as needed.

  • Interface with Internal and External Auditors.

  • Partner with production controlling team to complete annual cost roll.

  • Monthly inventory revaluation analysis.

  • Review scrap and rework accuracy.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance or accounting.

  • Minimum of 3+ years' work experience in accounting.

  • SAP system experienced (preferred).

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

This job may be based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://benefitsatenergy.com/thinking-of-joining.html.  The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $60,000-$85,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individuals' qualifications.
