Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Role Purpose
Oversees Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes within a Corning manufacturing facility. Maintain process areas, execute improvements, and monitor data for Ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic inspection (RT), and all visual inspections within the facility. Provide support for operations and engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities
Oversee UT Lab operations, including training, certifying, and maintaining/monitoring certifications of process area operators.
Support operations by monitoring product throughput, managing priorities effectively, and reporting on results.
Support experiment plans, new component testing, and product inspections utilizing NDT technology and techniques.
Measure and communicate performance against established objectives. Collect, review, and interpret data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc. Document processes and mentor operators on defined processes.
Support Quality Engineering on implementing and maintaining Quality systems to meet the requirements of production, ISO 9001 and TL 9000
Uphold safety initiatives, apply knowledge of industrial safety standards, and identify health hazards associated with metal fabrication in an industrial setting.
Up to 25% travel
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of BS in Engineering (Welding and Fabrication Engineering, Mechanical, or Quality preferred) or equivalent engineering major
5+ years of experience in engineering/manufacturing with a track record of successfully solving process problems based on fundamental understanding
Deep knowledge of NDT Process
Experience completing projects in a manufacturing organization
Prior experience in a plant or division engineering group
Excellent analytical aptitude
Ability to make decisions based on results
A self-starter that can acclimate quickly, identify gaps, and implement solutions
Familiarity with Quality Systems, audits, and ISO Certifications or other types of Quality certifications

The range for this position is $79,997.00 - $109,996.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
