CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for an Accounting Analyst .

Job Title: Accounting Analyst
Location: Painted Post, NY
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Painted Post, NY
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Recent graduates will be considered.

Description:
We are seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our client's team. This role will focus on performing complex accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting key accounting functions. You will work within a team environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and improving internal processes. The role offers opportunities for cross-training and process improvement, while supporting both internal and external customers.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required (recent graduates will be considered).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the creation and use of Pivot Tables.
Customer service experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of SAP or PeopleSoft is a plus but not required.
Qualifications:
Ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of data.
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Perform various complex accounting tasks, including account review, analysis, and journal entry preparation.
Perform Project Costing/Asset Management tasks as assigned.
Provide customer service support to internal and external customers, completing information requests, journal posting, and audit requests.
Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Develop an understanding of company procedures and policies to maintain compliance in the preparation of reconciliations, year-end closing instructions, and other reports.
Review processes and modify them to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
Cross-train with other team members.
Maintain and update process documentation.
Actively participate in meetings, projects, and audits.
Monthly Responsibilities:
Completion of all assigned Month-End Closing tasks.
Create and post journal entries.
Ensure completion of system processes.
Journal error review and correction.
Prepare and distribute ad hoc reports.
Prepare and certify assigned account reconciliations.
