Position Description:

Job Purpose and Scope:

Responsible for providing guidance and oversight to the Balancing Analyst staff and ensuring that day-to-day operations are handled according to established policy and procedure.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for managing and coaching staff, and providing guidance as it relates to; performance, promotion and salary recommendation, corrective action, hiring and termination, scheduling, and delegation of workload.

  • Maintain and ensures accuracy of internal departmental procedures.

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting quality assurance analysis of Balancing group activities as it relates to; bounce proof, charge off payments, and transfers according to compliance measurements.

  • Develop and implement process improvements to create efficiencies within daily procedures.

  • Develop and cultivate effective work relationships amongst team to motivate, coach, and retain staff.

  • Mentor staff to utilize effective customer service communication standards and processes according to policy and procedure.

  • Administer and coach staff in handling general customer complaints.

  • Resolve complex and/or sensitive customer complaints.

  • Manage and troubleshoot technical and/or procedural issues and provide guidance to team members to ensure compliance with Balancing group responsibilities.

  • Perform testing of new software, processes, and system upgrades as necessary.

  • Collaborate with Balancing upper management to implement efficiencies for the Balancing teams’ processes.

  • Responsible for producing and processing management reports.

  • Regularly exercises judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work.

  • Follow Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of core banking software.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective organization, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with exacting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to develop and motivate staff to achieve team goals.

  • Ability to independently develop, interpret, and provide staff guidance on bank policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work extended hours, as needed, to accomplish work objectives.

  • Ability to travel occasionally for business when required.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to effectively partner with vendors to contribute to positive vendor relationships.

  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve issues relating to account activity.

  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in retail banking or retail banking support environment required.

  • Minimum of (3) years' experience with reconciliation processes including resolution; preferred.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with core banking software (e.g., Fiserv Premier) and the applicable interfaces to a core banking software platform required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with Microsoft Excel and Word required.
