Primarily at the Goggin Ice Center, assists with maintaining university facilities by performing complex operations in a specialized field. Hours for this position are typically Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 pm to 1:00 am, with reasonable flexibility in support of facility events.

Description:
Performs general maintenance repairs on facility components and systems
Operate and maintain ice surfaces using ice resurfacer and other related equipment
Repair and sharpen skates
Monitors activities of the facility to ensure the smooth flow of operations and that all systems are fully functional
Identifies and corrects problems in equipment or procedure
Ensures the facility is in compliance with all pertinent University, local, and state rules and regulations
Hours for this position are typically Sunday through Thursday 5 pm to 1 am with reasonable flexibility in support of facility events
Duties/Physical Demands:
Maintains inventory of materials and supplies; orders as necessary
Oversee receiving of materials and supplies
Oversee student staff, establishes work schedules and assigns tasks
Monitors and reviews performance; ensures that any necessary corrections or changes are made
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires nine months of technical training beyond high school and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Requires driver's license

Knowledge of computer and unit applications
Supervisory skills
Ability to complete on-going Certified Ice Technician training
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Physical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing with some lifting of materials weighing 25 to 50 pounds
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions
Some exposure to several unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable
