TAI Senior Accountant in Owings Mills, Maryland

As our Senior Accountant Professional, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with industry standards, and providing strategic financial insight to support our business success. Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:

  • General Ledger and reconciliations: Apply your advanced General Ledger Accounting skills to ensure our books are correct.

  • Compliance: Ensure all financial transactions comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.

  • Audit Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure proper compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks associated with construction and development projects.

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • SALT: Provide managers and purchasing with project specific sales tax guidance, estimated sales tax costs up front, and filing of sales tax returns

  • Close: Perform final project disposition, closeout, and budget apportionments

  • Consulting: Proactively recommend best practices and process improvements.

  • Collaboration: Effectively interface with broad range of engineers, construction, management, and admin staff.

You'll be a perfect fit if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

  • CPA is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable accounting experience within the construction industry or with public accounting firm, servicing construction industry clients (AIA).

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and sound command of MS Office.

  • Sound knowledge or US GAAP, with emphasis in ASC 606, and other financial reporting.

  • Demonstrated General Ledger Accounting, reporting, and account reconciliation excellence.

  • Ability to support project budget and spend reporting and analysis, purchasing, sales tax, and billing, custom report design and project management support.

  • Solid written/verbal communication skills

  • Solid decision-making skills - Able to resolve complex accounting issues.

  • Knowledge of Construction Industry Sales Tax preferred

Compensation and benefits offering:

  • Base Salary range - $95,000- 120,000 (based upon experience)

  • Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
