QTS Data Centers is seeking a Finance Budget Senior Manager to work from our Overland Park, KS Headquarters location. Quality Technology Services (QTS) is a leading provider of data center solutions across a diverse footprint spanning more than 9 million square feet of QTS Mega Data Centers throughout North America and Europe.

The Finance Budget Senior Manager plays a critical role on the QTS Finance Team by partnering with leadership and stakeholders to attain financial objectives. By providing accurate, consistent, timely, and insightful forecasts and deliverables that inform critical business decisions you will unlock value in a rapidly growing organization. Partnership with Senior Leadership, Site Directors, and Accounting on data center financials is a key component of this role. You will learn all aspects of the QTS P&L and the budget process while being empowered to make an impact in a world-class organization.

This position will support QTS leadership through presentation of key financials, identifying business risks and opportunities, and being ‘ahead of the curve’. This role has opportunity for growth and flexibility to make it your own in alignment with leadership vision. Once up-to-speed on the basics, this role is expected to spend 70% of time on the strategic aspects of the business through building high-level presentations, turning data into intelligence through insightful reporting of financial metrics in Tableau, and identifying risks and opportunities in the forecast across the entire P&L. 30% of time will be spent on critical tactical activities such as managing the aggregation of a growing capital budget from stakeholders across the business, delivering in-servicing projections, and maintaining depreciation and amortization forecasts, all processes of which this role is empowered to streamline and automate to the greatest extent possible by leveraging systems and bringing new ideas to the table.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Works with leadership on effective presentation of key metrics and underlying drivers that promotes financial accountability throughout the organization.

  • Delivers detailed monthly/quarterly/annual variance analysis that provides leadership with key insights necessary to make informed business decisions.

  • Proactively identifies risk and opportunity in the forecast.

  • Identifies and implements process changes that result in improved efficiency and forecast accuracy.

  • Build and manage Tableau reporting with visual analytics that drive quick insights and guide the organization’s Cost Center Managers’ financial decisions.

  • SME (subject matter expert) in budgeting software (Adaptive Insights); includes maintaining information in the system, accuracy of the data, and driving system enhancements.

  • Cross-trains with other functions on the budget team to build redundancy of critical tasks.

  • Ensures that budgeting/forecasting methods align with GAAP and internal accounting procedures.

  • While this role is primarily focused on strategic aspects of the business you will also partner with business owners in development and tracking of: Capital budgets, In-servicing plans, Depreciation and Amortization schedules.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ten plus years professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or Accounting in rapidly changing organizations with full P&L scope of responsibility

  • Experience with data manipulation, reporting, and visual analytics through use of Business Intelligence (BI) software, preferably Tableau

  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skillset with the ability to turn financial data into visually appealing, professional presentations that effectively deliver the message and drive action.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Finance or Accounting or equivalent professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience providing financial and analytical support to cross-functional teams and organizations.

  • Experience in planning applications such as Adaptive Insights or Oracle Hyperion Planning

  • Experience building professional Tableau or Power BI reports from scratch and using the software to tell effective stories through visualization of key metrics.

  • Experience extracting, manipulating and organizing data from multiple sources through tools such as Alteryx or Tableau Prep

  • Ability to organize, interpret, and draw appropriate conclusions from large volumes of data and to creatively present the information in a manner that enables non-financial managers to easily understand the information.
