Robert Half Senior Accounting Analyst in Overland Park, Kansas
Description
We are in search of a Senior Accounting Analyst to join a well established and thriving organization in Overland Park, Kansas. In this role, you will be accountable for the gross profit analysis of selected divisions, general ledger reconciliation, and communication with division managers. You will also have additional duties in training, review, and development of staff analysts and the standardization of internal and location processes. Responsibilities
• Analyze gross profit of selected divisions and understand income statement and trial balance for divisions
• Act as the point of contact for the division(s) for any accounting, finance, or general questions or needs
• Support internal audit, internal control procedures, and documentation
• Record accurate and timely journal entries and prepare reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements for both internal and external users
• Advocate the company’s computer system(s) and support users in training and understanding system procedures
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and special projects performed by staff analysts
• Support the development of best practices and training for division execution/support staff
• Communicate with stakeholders on financial reporting and various requests
• Collaborate on training or planning of company-wide undertakings and meetings.
Requirements • Proven work experience as a Senior Accounting Analyst for 5 years or more
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• In-depth knowledge of General Ledger management
• Ability to handle Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Understanding of Gross Profit calculations
• Experience with Income Statements
• Knowledge of Trial Balance
• Proficiency in Variance Analysis
• Experience in Audit procedures
• Ability to conduct Balance Sheet Reviews
• Understanding of Internal Control mechanisms
• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements
• Experience in preparing Financial Statements
