Honeywell Knowledge Management Principal in Overland Park, Kansas

Summary

The Knowledge Management (KM) Principal will design, employ, administer, and mature the business’ comprehensive KM strategy. This new position will work with key business stakeholders, technical experts, practice groups, and departments to create the framework to better organize, distill, and present information in the context of solutions for business challenges. This individual will work with Senior Business Leaders and collaborate with Technical Experts, practice, and interest groups throughout FM&T’s various departments, providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) solutions for FM&T’s KM program framework, processes, and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Immediately assess and baseline current-state KM culture, and execute a risk-reduction strategy to mitigate loss of critical knowledge.

  • Develop a multi-year programmatic maturity roadmap for the KM program.

  • Possess and maintain a deep working knowledge of KM industry practices, information technology concepts, and process-improvement practices.

  • Proactively establish relationships across business functions to identify business needs, manage Senior Leadership stakeholder expectations, and identify and leverage KM Champions.

  • Collaborate with IT department to leverage in-place and forecasted software applications and other technology.

  • Collaborate with Human Resources & Talent Management and Learning to build KM culture into workforce development and training initiatives and solutions.

  • Collaborate with business operations leaders to build a KM culture into business systems and processes.

  • Execute deliberate change management: influence Senior Management adoption of KM strategy, process, and system solutions, and best practices.

  • Benchmark and leverage NSE-wide best practices and in-place solutions for immediate, measurable KM wins.

  • Develop, analyze, and report on KM metrics that drive desired KM behaviors.

  • Be a KM ambassador: Provide relevant training, support, coaching, and success stories to champion KM culture and mature the workforce’s understanding of KM principles and their value.

  • Influence knowledge sharing and collaborative workflow culture among departments and project teams.

  • Self-direct work and provide scalable and customized KM solutions and best practices to a wide range of senior leader stakeholders, functional leaders, and senior managers.

  • Serve as the SME point of contact for KM framework and processes, and related programs.

  • Create, maintain, and update process, procedure, and product documentation.

  • Capture, monitor, and record the use of KM systems. Interpret data for process improvement and trends analysis.

  • Provide KM SME input and information to, and coordinate with employees and contractors involved with activities and projects associated with KM.

  • Analyze, interpret, and trace information for historical authenticity and historic significance.

  • Identify historical knowledge and improve accessibility across various functional areas and mission programs.

  • Preservation of historically significant artifacts and information.

  • Partner directly with communications to educate the workforce, Nuclear Security Enterprise, and the public on historically significant KCNSC events.

  • May provide work direction to others and performance feedback as requested.

You Must Have

  • Bachelors Degree in business, information systems, information technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of nine years of relevant and directly related experience .

  • Industry Recognized KM Manager Certification.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.

  • United States Citizenship.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
