Job Description
Saint Luke's Rehabilitation Institute (SLRI) is hiring a Clinical Admissions Navigator to join our amazing team at our one-of-a-kind facility!
Must be either an LPN, RN, PT, PTA, or OT
SLRI is the only comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation hospital of its kind in the Kansas City region
This is a great opportunity to work with patients, families, and our multidisciplinary therapy team
Schedule: Monday - Friday
The Clinical Admission Navigator is responsible for all patient admission processes to acute rehabilitation units including insurance verification and other insurance process duties as directed. Build productive referral relationships with key referrer and clinical decision makers, representing and selling SLRI rehabilitation services to various audiences such as physicians, hospital discharge planners and case managers, patients and families. Educates clients, family members, referral sources, interdisciplinary team members and external payers regarding services and benefits. Recommends appropriate level and plan of care. Determines medical stability, readiness for program participation and that services recommended are appropriate, reasonable and necessary in collaboration with rehabilitation physician.
Screen potential patients via telephone assessment and/or record review
Complete referrals ensuring that all are reviewed and medically approved by Physiatrist
Deliver benefit eligibility and precertification, including providing a plan of care and participating in external payer negotiations
Contact insurance carriers to confirm coverage, verify benefits and obtain authorization/precertification to ensure reimbursement
Coordinate all insurance denial peer to peer reviews for Physiatrist to assist with possible insurance approval
Serve as the main contact for the rehabilitation team, internal admissions team, clients, and external sources to enhance outcomes
Promote effective public relations with patients and families, healthcare providers, and the community including providing tours when appropriate
