The role you’ll contribute:

This position functions as an Assistant Nurse Manager. In addition to providing direct patient care, this position is accountable for managing team members and facilitating a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, patient flow, staffing, resource utilization and problem solving for a specific patient care department. Position will report to the Director and be play a critical role in managing team members and providing overall direction for department activities which correlate with department specific goals and objectives. Establishes standards and expectations for all personnel within the area of responsibility. Position may also lead implementation of action plans for department activities which demonstrate process improvement, efficiency, or contribute to team member engagement.

Position is responsible for administrative supervision over nurses and technicians. Includes responsibility for establishing goals and priorities, inspiring staff to move in a direction that supports the strategic plan, performance management, coaching discussions, and TalentCare Development conversations. Collaborates and resolves problems quickly, working with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and promote shared accountability.

· Demonstrate accurate assessment skills appropriate to my patient population and based on evidence, policy and practice standards when caring for all patients regardless of complexity or need.

· Assure patient safety by adhering to established policies and procedures and utilizing patient safety resources such as mPPID. Implement a plan of care according to identified physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

· Demonstrate the ability to prioritize nursing interventions based on patient needs and in conjunction with unit activities and resources available.

· Actively participate in bedside shift report, safety huddles, multidisciplinary patient rounds and hourly rounding to gather all information necessary to care for my patients, anticipate their needs and provide for a smooth hand-off to other members of the health care team.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Kansas Registered Nurse License

· BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association

· Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

· Two to five years’ position-related leadership experience
