The Ford In-House System Platform Team is composed of highly skilled individuals who are comfortable working in a fast paced and technically challenging environment. Members are involved in the development of software for our next generation automotive, with emphasis in middleware application development that connect various Ford Electronic Control Units together.

As a Systems Software Developer, you will be working to integrate, validate, and support various Data Management components on our next-generation platform. This includes a wide range of activities and responsibilities covering configuration management, integration tooling and tool support, test development and management, and hand on hardware integration experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Work in an Agile software development environment to support software system integration using modern Automotive standards and technologies

  • Coordinate, integrate, and test operating system and software components being updated by internal and external teams and vendors

  • Define, implement and run test suites using python

  • Support development and improvement of integration tools using python

  • Perform manual test to assist software development

  • Share ideas for innovation and process improvements

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering or related technical area (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

  • 3+ years' experience with testing and python development

  • Experience with software development and the development lifecycle

  • Proven ability for troubleshooting and problem solving

  • Experience with Linux/QNX operating system CLI proficiency

  • Experience with embedded software integration

Our preferred requirements:

  • Ability to work in a multi-site team environment where self-driven and self-motivated capabilities are key initiatives

  • Working knowledge of AUTOSAR, CAN technologies, automotive diagnostic protocols

  • Proactive and interested in learning new tools and technologies

  • Experience with build system (Jenkins), source control system (GitHub), and defect tracking system (JIRA)

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
