WSP USA Solar PV Engineer in Ottawa, Ontario

What you can expect to do here:

  • You'll assist with the design of utility scale solar projects across Canada

  • You'll optimize solar PV systems including equipment selection and system parameters

  • You'll support clients throughout various phases of the project, ranging from initial feasibility studies to the comprehensive design process

  • You'll track and evaluate new solar PV equipment (modules, racking, inverters) options

  • You'll work with the solar team in improving solar design methodologies and product offerings;

  • You'll assist in due diligence reviews of pre-construction or existing assets;

  • You'll organize and document geospatial data and generating deliverables using AutoCAD/GIS software;

  • You'll communicate methodology and results through technical reports and presentations;

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the solar energy industry

  • Experience with solar detailed design and PVcase

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and collaborative approach to problem solving

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions

  • Experience with solar modeling software (Helioscope, PVSyst, SAM) is considered an asset

  • Enthusiasm for renewable energy solutions
