Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager to support our continued market growth and industry leadership, we are looking for a talented candidate to fill our Product Manager / Business Analyst position aligned with our C5ISR Modular Solutions business unit which develops Curtiss-Wright’s most advanced embedded electronics. Candidates should have relevant industry experience and passion for technology, combined with analytical, business leadership, and sales engagement skills to join the Curtiss-Wright team.

Your Challenge:
Responsible for the commercial success of our embedded product lines, overseeing them from inception, through market research, design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. By intimately understanding the target market needs, solution gaps and technical requirements, you will be part of a cohesive team to develop and deliver new and innovative solutions to our customers, while focusing on sound business growth.
Ensure that our products and solutions provide market differentiation through features, price, services, support or other key customer value propositions, resulting in increased market share and revenue growth.
Develop and implement strategies for existing and new products and prepare business cases that include ROI models, pricing and profit strategies, drive data-driven forecasts for bookings, revenue, and design wins, while ensuring a good competitive and differentiated value proposition is being offered through competitive, market and industry research.
Work with Engineering leads, CTOs and marketing teams to define and develop solutions to emerging market needs including feature sets, technical specifications, Design to Cost targets, pricing models, and related activities.
Provide Engineering with well-defined feature, cost and product level requirements and support them during the technical development of products to ensure they meet identified market needs.
Oversee product development lifecycles to ensure that Time to Market (TTM), Design to Cost (DTC), development costs and maximized ROI are maintained throughout the development phase and through ongoing sustaining activities.
Manage the ongoing health of product lines through regular sales forecast and design win reviews, margin monitoring and pricing adjustments, and ongoing market driven enhancements to maintain market leadership.
Manage component obsolescence through sound data-driven business decisions related to component LTB purchases and ongoing engineering sustaining activities.
Provide systems analysis of customer requirements and provide technical and marketing input on solution proposals.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to customers and sales colleagues with pre-sales technical and application knowledge, and innovative product and application insights.
Working with the marketing team, support new product introduction and promotional content creation, develop and maintain product and roadmap presentations, create white papers and media articles, all while driving strong product value propositions.
Drive third-party collaborative product development and support cooperative marketing/sales and business capture activities.
What You Bring
A relevant hardware and/or software Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
A relevant business degree, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Product or Engineering Management, or deeply technical Product Marketing
Demonstrated ability to understand target market needs and drive the creation of innovative and differentiated products that solve customer challenges and support their success
Proven success in identifying business opportunities and developing their potential
An ability to establish strong and genuine relationships with customers, sales, partners and co-workers to strengthen business ties
A good understanding of product, market & marketing strategy development
A working knowledge of our technology, system architecture, hardware, software and related support requirements within the Defense and Aerospace markets
Insights into relevant embedded processing technologies and industry standards, and software applications, including software enablement and system level software requirements
An ability to clearly articulate value propositions as part of complex bids, presentations, and verbally
Skills
A highly motivated and curious self-starter with an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, a sense of urgency, and an attention to detail
Strong business acumen and a keen understanding of the business implications to technical decisions
Ability to analyze complex data, summarize and present it clearly, and use it to support sound decision making
Knowledge of embedded computing systems architecture, hardware, software and usability in the military/aerospace industry, including familiarity with some, or all, the following technologies:
Intel and Arm processors, single board computers and embedded processing technologies
FPGA and GPU processing and co-processing technologies
Ethernet network switching and routing technologies as applied to embedded systems
VME/VPX/XMC form factors and VITA standards including SOSA, CMOSS, HOST, and adjacent MIL standards
Embedded Linux and real-time operating systems
Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Exemplary analytical skills and fluency with Microsoft Office tools
Must be willing to travel periodically in support of customers, sales and business development, and industry events such as trade shows
