Business Application Manager

A business application manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and enhancement of business applications. This role requires technical expertise with business experience to ensure that the company's software systems are aligned with its goals and objectives.
Main Responsibilities
Manage a team of developers that supports the lifecycle of business applications, including selection, implementation, configuration, customization, integration, and ongoing support.
Manage a team’s activities and resource allocation using an Agile methodology
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their high level needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements for application development and enhancement.
Plan and coordinate application-related projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables, to ensure successful execution and timely completion.
Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of business applications by overseeing maintenance activities, troubleshooting issues, and implementing upgrades and patches.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within business applications, including, access controls, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to analyze and assess business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and system enhancements.
Plan and implement change management strategies to facilitate user adoption of new applications or system updates, including communication, training, and user acceptance testing.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business application management, and make recommendations for process and system improvements.
Education & Experience Required
Education: A degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or ITIL is beneficial.
In-depth understanding of information technology concepts, systems, and methodologies. Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), infrastructure management, compliance and IT service management (ITSM).
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software.
Strong technical knowledge of business applications, databases, integration technologies, and software development methodologies.
A solid understanding of business processes and workflows, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels, including business users, IT teams, and vendors. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
In-depth experience with GitLab/Jira/Confluence/MS Office tools.
Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile or Waterfall.
Experience in leading and managing a team of application developers, analysts, or support personnel. Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs, priorities, and technologies. Willingness to learn and explore new applications and technologies as required.
Decision Making & Supervision
Work under minimal supervision.
Make decisions and recommendations requiring analysis and interpretation within established procedures
Working Conditions
Generally comfortable working conditions.
Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal.
Must be willing to accept minimal travel to national and international locations.
Occasional overtime required
