Position: Operations Manager
Role Statement:
The job incumbent is responsible for the operational organization in his/her region and for leading, setting up, delegating, supervising, and, when necessary, adjusting the operational activities on a tactical and operational level and the feedback to the management team.
The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Achieve set objectives (technical, commercial, and personal) as per the business plan.
Leading the team of inspections engineers & inspectors—allocation of surveyors for various assignments, supervision, and monitoring of performance and utilization.
Identifying and planning of training needs, resource requirements, etc. Recommend recruitment needs of personnel (both regular employees and subcontract basis) to the Country Chief Executive. On approval, identify prospective candidates, shortlist, and recommend to the Chief Executive for the recruitment.
Contract execution—Ensure proper execution of all the contracts in terms of performance, reports (including verification/review of inspection reports by other surveyors), invoicing, collection of payment, customer feedback, etc., both contracts entered by the region and by BV’s other contracting centers.
Interact directly on major contracts/projects, contracts requiring services of other centres, customer complaints, etc. Respond to the business line manager on reports/reporting requirements.
Contribute to the needs of other centers, including deputation of surveyors to the projects/other centres as may be required for the business by the business line manager.
To ensure compliance and respect of all BV policies and procedures, including implementation of all technical and procedural matters as per the BV quality system.
To develop/standardize general procedures for various inspection activities in order to have uniform procedures followed at each location.
Define and implement a business plan, budget, and resources in coordination with other regional office managers/in-charge, in line with corporate strategies.
Provide technical support to the Business Development, Operations & Inspection team in coordination with the regional manager/in-charge.
Any other job responsibilities as assigned by the Country Chief Executive/BLM.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
The following competencies are required:
Engineering Degree.
10–15 years of overall experience in a relevant field.
Resource must have experience in ANDT .
Resource must have Lead a large team in the past.
A track record of achievements while serving in the IND department will be an added advantage.
Should be a ‘Go to Market’ attitude personnel with the ability to connect people and client contacts at a higher level & should be able to convert contacts into business.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Should be able to manage a team under him.
Should have good leadership abilities, communication, and skills.
Should have a pleasing personality.
Proficient in MS Office.
Self-motivated.
