Description of Department: Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Finance Operations, the primary function of the Finance office is to serve as the primary payment center for the university. The office is responsible for the payment of all goods and services received at the institution as well as monitoring, managing and controlling the campus budget. We provides support to departments on campus in processing financial and administrative tasks associated with meeting the fiscal needs of the campus.

The Finance Office at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications to fill a full-time Accounts Payable Analyst.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • The Accounts Payable Analyst will be responsible for managing the payable operation at the institution. This will include payment processing for accounts payable, travel and employee reimbursements. This position will be responsible for maintaining the accounts payable and voucher payments within our Jaggaer Procurement System. This includes making sure payments are made within a timely manner and acting as a campus resource for the system and the accounts payable function. This position will also serve as the program administrator for the travel and net card program on campus and be responsible for reconciling the statements on a monthly basis. Training of campus partners in both the accounts payable area as well as the travel and net card procedures will be expected of this position.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in an accounts payable position or accounting office.

  • Demonstrated high proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications (i.e. excel, word, access)

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities with a strong attention to detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Supervisory experience

  • Experience in higher education setting

  • Knowledge of NYS payment procedures and policies
