job summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee all production areas as assigned by the Manufacturing Manager. This role includes managing department employees, overseeing production activities, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, on-time performance, quantity, and housekeeping standards. The ideal candidate will have solid leadership skills, experience in process implementation, and the ability to maintain a high standard of production efficiency.

This is an houlry position and has OT available if desired!

responsibilities:

  • Manage headcount and cross-functional training to meet quality and on-time performance standards in the assigned department.

  • Mentor and train personnel in tools, work techniques, and skills necessary for accomplishing work assignments.

  • Develop and coach Production Leads.

  • Supervise and provide work direction to personnel and operations on all shifts within the assigned departments.

  • Recruit, retain, manage, and conduct performance evaluations for subordinate personnel.

  • Handle disciplinary issues in a timely manner, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager and Human Resource Department.

  • Lead continuous improvement and lean activities within the department.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to quoted processes and achievement of rates, coordinating changes through Engineering as needed.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.

  • Stay informed about the latest manufacturing technologies and methods, recommending feasible implementations.

  • Review CRP reports, labor efficiency reports, quality, and cycle time data to ensure accuracy.

  • Verify that all chemicals used in manufacturing meet legal requirements.

  • Organize work to ensure smooth operations.

  • Assist in implementing new processes and equipment.

  • Keep the Manufacturing Manager and Production Planning informed of progress, and report unique problems to Engineering and Quality with solution recommendations.

  • Ensure employee safety, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping standards in assigned departments.

  • Enforce company policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.

  • Maintain positive morale within the assigned departments.

  • Support activities required to implement and maintain the company's strategic objectives, including continuous improvement or cost reduction activities.

  • Set and pursue goals for the Production Department's improvements.

  • Effectively communicate with other departments, supervisors, and managers, including participation in or facilitation of meetings.

  • Provide input on yearly budgets for equipment, personnel, education, labor hours, and maintain costs as outlined in the approved plan.

  • Ensure all areas of responsibility meet ISO, AS9100, NADCAP, NASA-STD-8739, and other relevant requirements and instructions.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent; additional college-level courses in engineering and management subjects are desirable.

  • 3-5 years experience as a Supervisor or similar

  • Working knowledge & Understanding working with CCA - Custom Circuit Assembly & SMT - Surface Mount Technolog

  • Experience in process implementation and procedure generation is required.

  • Understanding or formalized training in scheduling.

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to handle a variety of duties and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.
