Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Senior Scientist to drive the technical feasibility of our early-stage product development for clinical cell therapy manufacturing. In this pivotal role, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME), shaping strategic decisions and product development. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with international scientists and key opinion leaders (KOL), engaging with customers to tailor solutions, and leading a small team of scientists. You will coordinate experimental work, analyze data, and contribute to new intellectual property (IP) generation. This role offers a multifaceted and challenging environment with significant opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Work in the field of cell therapy; lead the technical feasibility evaluation of early-stage development of products for clinical cell therapy manufacturing
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and go-to person for leadership and R&D scientists
Influence strategic decisions and product development roadmap
Collaborate internationally with internal and external scientists and key opinion leaders (KOL)
Continuously evaluate new technologies (scientific inventions, inorganic opportunities, due diligence processes, competitor evaluations)
Engage with customers to scope and plan customized solutions
Supervise, motivate, and engage a small team of scientists to support our innovation activities
Design, oversee, and occasionally perform experimental work in the laboratory
Analyze data and present results to peers and collaborators
Write protocols and reports, document according to our quality system
Support the generation of new intellectual property (IP)
Qualifications:
PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or Molecular Biology with a minimum of 4 years' experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry or pre-clinical/clinical research hospital laboratories
Scientific excellence in experimental design, execution, and analysis, with experience in Design of Experiments (DOE)
Expertise in flow panel design for phenotyping using spectral and/or conventional multicolor flow cytometry
Extensive experience with cellular assays using various cell types (e.g., T-cells, NK, HSC, iPSC, Treg, TIL, MSC)
Proficiency in cell isolation and activation with magnetic beads/microspheres and immune cell functional assays (activation, proliferation, killing and cytokines)
Experience with protein analysis (SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and preferably WB, ELISPOT, HPLC, SPR, MS) and protein labeling (isotopes and fluorochromes)
Preferred experience with clinical trials, regulatory requirements, and/or manufacturing of ancillary materials
Familiarity with ISO13485, quality management systems, and principles of quality by design is beneficial
Basic understanding of phage display technology is an advantage
