Job Description Summary

As Global Utilities Leader for Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), you will be responsible for managing utility systems across multiple pharmaceutical manufacturing sites worldwide. Your primary focus will be on optimizing variable cost productivity and ensuring equipment reliability in accordance with ISO 55001 guidelines. This global role reports to the Engineering & Maintenance Leader ISC, based in Europe and you will be a key member of the function’s leadership team.

Reporting to the Global Engineering & Maintenance Leader

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

PERFORMANCE

  • Functionally lead the utilities teams at site.

  • Ensure that all critical utility systems, including water systems, pure steam, compressed air, and medical gases, are maintained in a state of control as per ISPE guidelines

  • Develop and implement a robust asset management system in line with ISO 55001 standards

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of utility assets, from acquisition and operation to maintenance and disposal.

  • Optimize asset performance, balancing cost, risk, and performance to meet organizational objectives.

  • Identify and assess risks associated with utility assets and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Develop and maintain a risk management plan to ensure the reliability and safety of utility systems.

  • Monitor the performance of utility assets and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and enhance asset performance.

EXTERNAL FOCUS

  • Have External Focus to understand business and engineering trends in the global supply chain and implement best practices.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Identify skills and competency gaps, providing leadership and direction within own functional remit. Ensure personal development plans and talent matrix succession pipelines are in place and regularly reviewed and that a culture of continuous learning is promoted and maintained.

TRAINING

  • Provide training to staff on GMP compliance and best practices for managing critical utilities.

  • Ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about the latest ISPE guidelines and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide training to staff on asset management best practices and ISO 55001 standards1.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.

  • Have an ability to lead technical root cause investigations.

  • Ensuring company administrative procedures and policies are implemented in the department

  • Responsible for developing people, training, and technical skills to maximise operational equipment uptime, implement new technologies and applying best practice in maintenance methods and systems.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering.

  • Fluent in English and others are helpful

  • Understanding of Asset Management methodologies aligned to ISO 55000

  • experience in GMP manufacturing, preferably in sterile/aseptic fill & finish and radiopharmaceuticals.

  • Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills

  • Extended GxP and HSE knowledge

  • Ability to travel globally (25%)

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of documentation, standards, and guidelines.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in managing people on a wide range of tasks.

A strong working knowledge of site plant processes including Production, Packaging, Facilities, Utilities, Logistics, Finance, ESH, Quality.
