Robert Half Purchasing Clerk - Ingredients in Osceola, Arkansas

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Clerk - Ingredients in the food service industry. The role is based in Osceola, Arkansas, and involves managing ingredient purchases, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately process orders for ingredient materials in line with schedule demands.

• Keep PO details in the ERP system up to date.

• Manage min/max levels and safety stocks for ingredient materials.

• Regularly review safety stocks and adjust as necessary.

• Maintain a three-week outlook on critical item list.

• Send shelf-life extensions when necessary.

• Review MRP report and make necessary adjustments or place POs as needed.

• Coordinate inbound shipments of ingredients when required.

• Collect information, including counting suspect ingredient quantities, to ensure all materials are in house and communicate any discrepancies to the warehouse team and Manager.

• Regularly check pricing with suppliers to verify PO prices are correct.

• Conduct a monthly consumable report.

• Oversee Tomato stocks on a monthly basis.

• Monitor the shelf life of raw materials.

• Take part in physical inventories twice a year.

• Support the review, understanding, and compliance with all programs, policies, and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a purchasing role, preferably within the food service industry

• Proficiency in using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

• Knowledgeable on standard buying processes and procedures

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Familiarity with purchasing functions such as selecting suppliers, negotiating prices, and tracking orders

• Experience in purchasing management, including maintaining relationships with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of goods

• Ability to efficiently manage purchasing materials, including inventory control and cost management

• Experience in purchasing planning, including forecasting demand and planning future purchases

• Understanding of food service operations, preferably with experience in purchasing ingredients for food service operations.
