Space Dynamics Laboratory On-Site SDL System & Program Field Service Representative in Osan, South Korea

We are currently seeking an experienced Information Systems Administrator, Operator, and Sustainer to join our team at Osan Air Base, South Korea. In this role, you will be embedded with the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) in support of a Foreign Military Sale program. This position demands an in-depth knowledge of information systems sustainment, networking, and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will act as a diplomatic liaison for the company, ensuring objectives are consistently achieved for various stakeholders while adhering to ITAR regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate daily within the secure environment of ROKAF as an embedded systems support personnel and liaison between SDL and ROKAF

  • Manage all facets of real-time operational support and maintenance for information systems, networking, application software, and periodic system upgrades

  • Participate actively in designing and configuring system enhancements to facilitate improved operational frameworks

  • Ensure adherence to DoD security accreditation requirements and oversee their ongoing maintenance

  • Recommend and implement cutting-edge technologies to address customer network operations and enhance security monitoring capabilities

    Required Qualifications:

  • Willingness to relocate to Osan, South Korea for 1 – 2 years

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an IT related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and deploying comprehensive information systems including networks, boundary protection, servers, operational monitoring tools, and workstations

  • Proficiency in designing and deploying core network services such as Exchange, VMware ESXi, SQL, Active Directory/LDAP, web servers, DNS, patching, DHCP, configuration management, workstation deployment, storage and backup solutions, routing and switching, and firewalls

  • Familiarity with information systems security best practices and utilization of security tools

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to quickly grasp new concepts, and adept problem-solving capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge to complex, practical scenarios

  • Effective in both independent work and team collaboration

  • Extensive experience in communication and collaboration with an engineering development and system support team based in Logan, UT

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with diverse internal and external stakeholders

  • Some travel required

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

  • Experience with setup and management of a Network Operation Center (NOC)

  • Experience with DoD mission operations networks

  • DoD RMF procedures

  • Software engineering skills in C++, Java, web development, and/or scripting

  • Automated deployment experience with tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible

  • Active TS/SCI
