Sargent is searching for a Welder in our shop in Stillwater, Maine. Weld & fabricate metal components necessary to repair heavy equipment. Knowledge of equipment repair & welding.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Select equipment and plan layout, assembly and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts, using S.M.A.W., G.T.A.W., G.M.A.W. or other procedures and equipment.
May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
May weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.
May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
Maintain work area clean and free of rubble.
Manage and utilize materials in an efficient manner.
Perform such other duties, including but not limited to laborer duties, as requested by supervisor.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE :
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Education and/or experience in Welding.
Experience in heavy equipment /truck repair preferred.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
OSHA 30-hour training.
Good knowledge of and experience working with steel.
Layout, drilling and light welding previous experience preferred.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints & BOM’s.
Detail oriented, demonstrated high level of accuracy and to work safely.
Must pass required specialized training.
