Pine Canyon Growers, based in Orondo, Washington, was founded in 2016 by five growers committed to producing top-quality apples, pears, and cherries. They purchased their packing house after initially leasing it through a partnership with Western Traders, which now manages their Big Horn and Bison labels internationally. Domestically, Pine Canyon Growers exclusively partners with CMI for marketing. Position Summary:

Pine Canyon Growers is looking for a Grower Accounting & Payroll Administrator to be an essential part of our finance team, overseeing payroll and grower-specific accounting with accuracy and efficiency. This role keeps our financial transactions flowing smoothly, ensuring grower accounts and payroll are timely, precise, and compliant.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage grower subledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Process grower payments and manage receivables and payables.
  • Prepare monthly grower statements and detailed financial reports for the CFO.
  • Support audits by maintaining accurate, compliant grower records.
  • Follow financial policies, procedures, and regulations related to grower transactions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate financial records and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting with the finance team.
  • Record Accounts Receivable and collaborate with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Oversee payroll processing, including wage calculations, deductions, and timely employee payments.
  • Work with the third-party payroll provider to ensure accurate tax filing and payment.
  • Partner with HR to maintain payroll records and employee data, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Administer employee benefits and address payroll-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in accounting and payroll, preferably in agriculture.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (Compu-Tech, QuickBooks) and payroll systems (Paycom, ADP). Advanced in Excel.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills, clear communication, and keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions & Relationships:

  • Environment: Primarily office-based with occasional site visits.
  • Hours: Regular business hours; additional hours as needed.
  • Travel: Minimal, with occasional training or site visits.
  • Reports to: CFO, and works closely with AP/AR, growers, vendors, and other third parties.
