Job Summary

The MVW Law Department provides legal support and legal services to all aspects of the Company's business.
The paralegal in this position will be a member of the Law Department’s Registrations and Mexico team, based at MVW’s worldwide headquarters in Orlando, Florida, and will report to the Mexico Regional Counsel. This position performs factual research, document analysis and organization, document drafting, and other tasks that require substantial knowledge of the subject matter and jurisdiction of Mexico. This position will provide legal support to the Company’s Mexican resorts and vacation ownership business; subject matter work will include drafting dual language contracts, leases and other legal documents, registration support and legal compliance regarding all sales and
business operations in Mexico. The position will also support Spanish language marketing and perform document review and translation as needed. Under the direction of an attorney, the position will be responsible for working with other associates within and outside the Law Department on matters relating to Mexico, as well as working with outside counsel and interacting with government officials as necessary.
Expected Contributions
• Draft dual English and Spanish language correspondence, documents, and memoranda for review; once reviewed, may revise, distribute, and transmit legal correspondence, documents and memoranda.
• Research legal topics, summarize and assist with preparing checklists with legal requirements in Mexico and other jurisdictions, and file written summaries in appropriate paper and computer files.
• Create and maintain timeshare registrations for products located or marketed in Mexico and other jurisdictions as assigned.
• Maintain association minutes books for Mexico projects.
• Review, analyze and track legislative proposals in Mexico and other Spanish speaking jurisdictions.
• Actively contact other associates to obtain information and guidance regarding support to be provided.
• Compile information and prepare documents for timely registration and regulatory submittals, amendments and renewals, and maintain organized, detailed and accurate records of same.
• Interact with outside entities (e.g., government agencies, companies, and external law firms) to gather and provide information, documentation or data.

• Modify existing legal documents and create computer-generated black-line drafts of deeds, leases, contracts and other related documents.
• Create, update, and maintain databases, as appropriate.
• Analyze various documents as required.
• Review Spanish language marketing and other documents and translate to English as needed.
• Consult with and direct files to appropriate associate when issues arise outside of the scope of his or her responsibility or experience.
• Create and maintain paper and computer files of correspondence and documents.
• Assist with training new associates, as requested.
• Work with the designated departments to provide approved sales documents to on-site sales personnel.
• Assist in gathering information and resolving issues with clients.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience/Knowledge
• Four-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience with an excellent employment record.
• Four or more years of relevant substantive experience as a paralegal or equivalent experience in a law firm, title agency, corporate law department, or government agency
• Timeshare and Mexico experience preferred.
• Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program helpful but not required.
• Must be fully bilingual (verbal and written) in English and Spanish.
