A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Commercial Legal Counsel for the Siemens Energy, you will support commercial contracts for the sale and service of energy and industrial equipment. You will need to suggest innovative ways to deal with contract requirements, negotiations, obligations, and exposures to business partners.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Draft and negotiate contractual documents to achieve acceptable risk levels.

• Drafting settlement agreements, confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, change orders, and other contractual terms and conditions.

• Summarize and prepare risk summaries for review and approval by management.

• Provide claims handling and litigation support for projects in execution.

• Provide support for corporate and compliance matters.

What You Bring

• Juris Doctorate required.

• Must be admitted to practice law in one or more states.

• 5-8 years of experience in a law firm or corporate in-house position.

• Strong negotiation skills, detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects at the same time.

• Strong customer orientation.

• Pragmatic approach to problem solving and strong flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.

• Team player who can work independently and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

• Able to communicate clearly and concisely with a range of associates as well as senior executives.

• Excellent communication, writing, and facilitation skills.

• Commercial transaction and energy industry experience preferred.

• Spanish is beneficial but not required.

• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our team is a blend of experts who have deep knowledge in the Energy industry and legal professionals who have joined the industry more recently – all of them committed to serving our customers and society by contributing to the realization of critical energy infrastructure project. The team of legal professionals works closely with the business partners responsible for the sale of Service solutions for Siemens Energy power generation equipment, throughout the Americas. The Service offerings range from master purchase agreements, urgent plant service requests, to complex long-term service and operation agreements.
