The Airport Relations Coordinator will be an integral part of Signature’s team and ensure the longevity, growth, and stability of the company’s relationships with airports. The Coordinator will have varied responsibilities that range from the tactical execution of specific tasks and projects to participation in strategic programs and developing executive-level recommendations. Extensive collaboration between departments, including Signature’s Operations, Business Development, Sales & Revenue Management, Legal, and Finance, will be required. The Coordinator will be expected to review, extract, and understand detailed information contained within airport lease agreements.

Please note - this is a HYBRID position that requires being in the office at least 3 days a week.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Assignments in support of RFPs, RFQs, and facility/business development that seek to grow and retain Signature’s leading global network of FBOs.

  • Supporting role in developing proposals, projects, and initiatives, showcasing Signature’s compelling value proposition to airport sponsors.

  • Attendance at preproposal meetings and physical delivery of proposals, as required.

  • Internal collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders to conceive and deliver FBO development projects.

Research

  • Performing research in support of existing locations, including review and reporting on airport & governmental board meetings, governance documents, airport layout plans, FAA documentation, and other sources of intelligence.

  • Collecting and summarizing documents, providing situational reporting, and making concise, informed recommendations regarding new and prospective real estate development projects.

  • Examination of the micro and macro level competitive environment surrounding airports, FBOs, and private aviation service providers.

Special Events & Tradeshows

  • Organizing and planning annual tradeshow programs, including budgets.

  • Coordinating airport tradeshow exhibitions, including attendee registrations, managing tradeshow booths, and hotel reservations.

  • Planning, orchestration, and management of grand openings and special events.

  • Attendance at tradeshows as required, serving as a public face for Signature’s Airport Relations team.

  • The Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and maintaining a tradeshow program budget, ensuring tradeshow presence is delivered within defined parameters.

Airport Lease Agreement Review & Verification

  • Review of airport lease agreements to ensure accurate representation of agreement terms.

  • Responsible for analyzing and resolving discrepancies in agreement terms in lease accounting software.

  • Acquisition of agreement documentation, including official correspondence from airports.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree obtained or in progress (or equivalent), plus 1 year of practical experience in an aviation-related business or organization or equivalent combination of education and experience in airport relations/affairs.

  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Strong proficiency in verbal and written communication skills is required; preference for previous experience in reviewing legal documents.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to complex projects and problems.

  • Ability to work under pressure and on defined deadlines.

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding of the aviation industry, including a familiarity with aircraft and airport operations.

  • Preference for preexisting understanding of private aviation, including the role of FBOs in servicing aircraft.

  • Familiarity with contractual and legal language.

  • Experience in organizing and orchestrating events, with an emphasis on tactical planning.

  • Preferred familiarity with airport-specific subjects, including the structure of governmental entities, public financing, and the role of public/private partnerships.

  • Natural curiosity to analyze and interpret vast amounts of information from disparate sources, ultimately developing well-articulated rationales and showcasing thoughtful decision-making.

  • Ability to reconcile quantitative and qualitative information into focused recommendations.

  • Minimum of 18 years of age

  • Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge, and be insurable by the company’s applicable insurance policies

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
