Summary Employee serves as Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic within the Engineering Service at the Orlando Medical Facility Outpatient Clinic and Nursing Home Care Unit. Full activation of this facility will provide a 120 bed Nursing Home Care Unit, active outpatient clinic with over 140,000 annual visits, ambulatory surgery, consolidated mailout pharmacy (CMOP), 50 bed domiciliary, day treatment center, adult day care program, mental health clinic, alcohol and substance abuse and other services. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Perform overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification and repair of various types of air conditioning equipment which is characterized by moderate complexity of design, construction and function. Use basic knowledge and skills of the crafts to perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, systematic troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of various sizes and types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and system components. Perform vibration analysis of major building service equipment such as circulating pumps, air handlers, cooling tower fans, medical air compressors and vacuum pumps. Test systems and equipment for leaks, evacuate air and moisture or other foreign matter from refrigerant systems or components using proper refrigerants to obtain optimum operating levels. Install, maintain and repair tubing valves, fittings, castings and equipment by welding brazing, soldering and flaring. Erect or suspend scaffolding in the performance of duties and is responsible for the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment. Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am (schedule may change based on need of service) Position Description Title/PD#: Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic/PD06311A Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit as work involves lifting, pulling, climbing, crawling, working with hands over head, working in confined areas and using arm and back muscles in tightening of connections. Must have ability to be on feet for long periods either standing, walking, working off ladder or staging materials and lift equipment weighing 60 pounds and over. Will request assistance when needed to avoid injury. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
