CITY OF OREM Lead Library Assistant in OREM, Utah
The Orem Public Library is currently hiring to fill a Lead Library Assistant position for the Patron Experience Division. This is a part-time, non-benefitted position working under the general supervision of an Associate Librarian, Librarian, or Division Manager. This position is responsible for providing general library services to the public and performing supervisory duties. General responsibilities include providing general and in-depth reference and reader's advisory service to the public, instructing and assisting library patrons in the use of library resources, carrying out duties related to circulation (e.g. issuing library cards, handling money, assisting patrons with self-check systems, etc.), and acting as an assistant collection developer. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing the general workflow and day-to-day processes within an assigned service area, assisting with staff training, and collaborating with other service areas to ensure clear communications and efficient workflows. Responsibilities will also include other duties as assigned. Tasks related to this position may include some light physical effort. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with the public, with an ability to deliver a high standard of service, even in stressful situations. Evenings and weekends will be required.
