In this dynamic role, you'll lead the planning, coordination, and promotion of all Admissions events, making a lasting impact by helping prospective students and their families experience the spirit and opportunities UVU offers. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director and serve as the primary contact for event planning within Admissions, shaping memorable and meaningful events that highlight the UVU experience. Summary of Responsibilities

 

• Event Planning and Coordination: Develop, plan and execute a variety of admissions recruitment events, such as open houses, conferences and banquets. They will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution and manage event logistics including venue selection, catering, transportation and technology setup.

• Marketing and Promotion: Work with our team to create and implement marketing campaigns to promote Admissions events through various channels, including social media, email, text, and print materials. Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts to continually improve outreach strategies

• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for each event, ensuring cost-effectiveness of allocated funds. Track expenses and prepare financial reports for review.

• Event Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and assess the success of each event. Prepare detailed reports on event outcomes, including attendance metrics, participant feedback, and areas for improvement. Use data and feedback to make informed recommendations for future events.

• Team Collaboration and Leadership: Lead and coordinate the efforts of event staff, volunteers, and student ambassadors. Provide training and support to team members involved in event planning and execution and foster a collaborative team environment to ensure the successful delivery of all events. Provide training and collaborate with the UVU Ambassador program

 

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in event management or a combination of educations and experience related to Summary of Duties totaling four years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

 

Knowledge

 

• Understanding of event planning and coordination best practices, including logistics, scheduling, and stakeholder management

• Familiarity with various marketing channels and tools, including social media, email marketing , and print media, to effectively promote events.

• Knowledge or budget development, expense tracking, and financial reporting to ensure cost-effective event execution.

• Knowledge of methods for collecting, ana lyzing, and reporting on event data to evaluate success and inform future improvements

 

Skills

 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; skill in oversight and maintenance of event management software

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with prospective students,

• families, and community partners.

• Proficiency in creating and imple enting effective marketing campaigns.

 

Abilities

 

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring all aspects of event planning and execution are completed on time.

• Capability to analyze event data and feedback to generate insightful reports and make informed recommendation for future events.

• Strong Leadership abilities to coordinate and motivate event staff and student ambassadors, fostering a collaborative team environment.

• Ability to be a self-starter: crucial that candidate is able to work well without constant supervision

• On occasion, ability to have a variable and flexible schedule to be able to cover events outside of work hours when necessary.
