POSITION PURPOSE: Member of Laboratory staff that evaluates incoming waste shipments, prepares stabilization mix designs, performs wet and instrumental chemical analyses. REQUIREMENTS: Performs routine analytical testing of incoming waste shipments under the technical supervision of staff Chemists, Laboratory Supervisor, Lead Lab Tech or VP of Client and Administrative Services. Prepares stabilization mix designs on laboratory samples using various additives and reagents under technical supervision of staff chemists. Analyzes samples of incoming shipments for consistency with original stabilization mix-design data and prepares field mix-design instruction sheets. Prepares reagents and standards to specifications required by regulations (i.e. TCLP, EP-toxicity and other standard RCRA tests). Performs data entry and keeps accurate records concerning stabilization mix-designs, field mix designs and routine grab & hold verification testing. Operates Atomic Absorption, ICP, X-Ray and other laboratory instruments under the supervision of staff Chemists or Lab Supervisor. Maintains the laboratory in a clean, orderly condition as required. Other duties as required. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS: Develop and Maintain reputation within the Company as expert in field. Work normally involves routing, scheduled or cyclical activities. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS (continued): Work is preplanned, or approved -by, or approved in advance by supervisor; progress checked at frequent intervals. Serve as consultant and assist units throughout the Company. Work under frequent pressure to meet deadlines. Integrate inter-dependent activities of other employees. Communicate technical ideas to employees in other areas. Work frequently involves projects that may extend over several months and require close project management. Process a large amount of complex information quickly Deal with unstructured problems that often require a "free-wheeling", high-risk response. EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL: Minimum: 2-Year Associates Degree in a technical field Preferred: 4-Year Bachelors Degree in a related field EXPERIENCE: Minimum: 1 year Laboratory Tech experience Crystal Clean LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
