KidsPeace Childrens Hospital ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES in Orefield, Pennsylvania
This position is responsible for overseeing clinical services provided to clients including: supervision, administration and staff development as directed by the Director of Social Services. In some cases, this position will provide counseling services to clients directly through individual, family, and/or group counseling sessions.
Job Duties / Essential Functions
Ensure programming is occurring consistently for all related disciplines and the materials are relevant to the population served.
Design, implement, and monitor new and innovative approaches in the delivery of evidence-based clinical services to the inpatient population.
Attend treatment team meetings to identify complex cases and provide support to treatment team members, specifically: clinicians, case managers, and expressive therapists. .
Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Nursing and Nursing Leadership to promote stable milieu management.
Participate in Hospital and Corporate clinical audits to ensure that the Hospital is meeting the standards of documentation per Hospital, Corporate, state and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.
Attend all applicable meetings and participate in Hospital and Corporate committees as assigned.
Maintain positive customer relationships with both internal and external customers and facilitate open lines of communication to best address the needs of clients and their families
Maintain professional licensure.
All other duties assigned by management.
Promote and develop an internship program to utilize at the Hospital.
Oversee day to day operations of the Social Services Department and the provision of clinical and case management services in the Hospital.
Participate in the Social Services Supervisor on-call rotation for weekends and holidays.
Provide coverage for Social Services’ leadership when they are out of the office.
Oversee and manage the clinical licensure process as per the Clinician Career Pathway by providing supervision and coordination of resources within the KidsPeace continuum.
Participate in the hiring process for the Social Services Department in conjunction with the Director of Social Services.
Assign and monitor training schedule for new associates in the Social Services Department to ensure that clinicians, case managers, expressive therapists, and interns are trained consistently across the Hospital.
Provide ongoing supervision to direct reports (Social Services Clinical Managers, Expressive Therapists, Clinicians, and Case Managers) as required/needed, and complete all necessary supervisory tasks and documentation as required.
Qualifications (Education, Training and Experiences)
Masters Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or other related degree in Human Services, Mental Health, or Mental Counseling. 2. Active LPC or LCSW is required.
Experience preferred is within 3-5 years with a minimum of one year of clinical supervision required and a minimum of two years of direct treatment experience with children/adolescents.
