Position Summary

The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

As the Science and Technology Trainee in the Black Cup Technology team, you will support the development of new coffee pilot scale capabilities.

A Day in the Life of the Science and Technology Trainee

  • Contribute to the process implementation by engaging with various entities within the R&D centre (project team, engineering team, pilot plant, workshop)

  • Define relevant experimental plans based on existing literature and with support from project and science team

  • Perform the trials with support from pilot plant operators while overseeing special analysis with inline probes

  • Analyse the results including some product characterisation, statistical analysis, and data interpretation vs literature

  • Present the results to the extended project team through periodical presentations and a final report

  • Educational background in relevant fields (e.g., chemical engineering, food science, materials science)

  • Willingness to learn and operate specialized equipment

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis

  • Effective planning and organization skills

  • Clear presentation abilities

  • Self-motivated and proactive nature

  • English and French considered an asset
