Minimum Qualifications This is a labor class position. Trades Generalist must have four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey level worker which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprenticeship training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Trades Generalist position. Under the direction of a Maintenance Supervisor 3, the Trades Generalist will perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair, installation, construction tasks and electrical trades. Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following:• Perform a variety of tasks related to maintenance and repair offood production and other mechanical equipment, in accordancewith manufacturers’ recommendations and a preventivemaintenance schedule, using hand or shop tools.• Building maintenance including maintenance, repair, installation,and construction tasks.• Perform electrical and refrigeration repair and maintenance.• Materials receiving and processing.• Plan and lay out construction, repair, and maintenance projects.
