Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join the Maintenance team for the Golden Triangle Polymers (GTP) facility located in Orange, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.
This position will be responsible for executing Operational Readiness Plan tasks and supporting Commissioning and Start-up activities, to ensure the plant build and start-up result in safe, reliable, and maintainable operations. Following unit startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations. This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.
Responsibilities
Represent the project for OSBL (Utilities) equipment scope of work
Participate and complete Operational Readiness activities supporting the build, commissioning, and startup of the facility
Act as safety leader to promote CPChem safety culture
Oversee and interface with third party maintenance contractors to ensure safe, high quality, effective work practices are followed
Interact with multiple support groups (Operations, Technical, Projects, EHSS, etc.) to execute maintenance activities
Participate and lead incident investigations
Participate in and conduct Job Safety Analysis for high-risk work as required
Participate in P&ID reviews, plot plan reviews, and 3D model reviews as applicable
Review and provide input to equipment data sheets, specifications, technical bid evaluations, and vendor provided documents
Responsibilities (continued)
Ensure constructed systems are technically complete and ready for commissioning / start-up
Assist with the development of PSM equipment lists, and ensure equipment is maintained in accordance with company and government regulations
Develop and review standard maintenance procedures
Develop and review preventative maintenance task lists
Utilize SAP to improve reliability, cost tracking, planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities
Work-up as the Maintenance Supervisor as needed
Support Ethylene and Polyethylene scopes as necessary
Participate in on-call rotation for the Maintenance department
Participate and provide leadership during unit turnarounds and shutdowns
Skills / Abilities
Excellent written and verbal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Must have at least 10 years of direct-related experience in the petrochemical or refining industry in a maintenance organization
Working knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ASME, API, etc.
Working knowledge of SAP PM and MM Modules
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering Degree or 10 years maintenance craft experience
Knowledge of turnaround and/or project principals
Experience managing contractors
Experience with Primavera, or similar scheduling software
Major capital project experience
Previous leadership experience
