Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager Patient Transport facilitates the priorities of patient movement throughout the hospital and is responsible for the daily operations of patient transporters. The Manager collaborates with facility departments and medical staff to promote appropriate and timely patient movement so patient care is not delayed. The Manager prioritizes all inter and intra department transfers, facilitates weekly meetings with transporters and department leaders to understand the shifting landscape of transport needs by department. Supervises a team of patient transporters who provide central transportation services for patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed. The Manager will monitor daily volumes, turnaround times from request to job completed, staffing productivity, patient experience, and employee engagement. Additional duties include preparing various reports to include transport response times, maintaining equipment, ensuring transports are carried out timely and comply with the company and hospital policies. The quality of care given in the Unit will be in keeping with the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital and the Department. It will maintain and support the standards of care and practice to meet the health care needs of patients, their families and the community.

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • BLS required

  • 1+ years of experience working in a hospital required

  • Experience as a Patient Transporter, Unit Supervisor, or Manager preferred
