Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Orange, California

Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist at our residential memory care facility located in Orange, California. This role will primarily involve overseeing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and providing HR support related to payroll administration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the process of bi-weekly payroll for the team, ensuring accuracy and timely wage payments.

• Maintain accurate records of payroll, including timecards, PTO accruals, wage deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.

• Calculate payroll accurately, taking into account overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and benefits deductions.

• Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies, coordinating with HR and Finance departments as necessary.

• Assist with year-end payroll processes such as W-2s, ACA reporting, and tax filings.

• Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws to ensure compliance.

• Support the onboarding of new hires by setting up payroll profiles, verifying tax documentation, and ensuring proper employee classifications.

• Process payroll changes including wage adjustments, benefits deductions, and direct deposit updates.

• Administer paid time off (PTO), FMLA, and other leave programs in alignment with company policies.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and timely responses.

• Generate payroll reports for management and finance teams, including labor cost analysis and tax reports.

• Ensure payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations are accurately recorded in financial records.

• Maintain payroll documentation and employee records in compliance with company policies and audit requirements. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and Dayforce

• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions

• Experience in Auditing

• Understanding of Benefit Functions

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Onboarding new employees
